1st River To River Yard Sale this August 4-6, 2016

The idea for the River  to River yard sale came from Julie Ames and her sister Sabra Smith, visiting the 100 mile yard sale, in MO.  After visiting that successful event  they decided to start a similar event in Southernmost IL.

The River to River yard sale will follow Hwy. 146 from East Cape to Golconda on August 4-6, 2016.   Residents along this route are encouraged to clean out attics, basements, closets and storage sheds and offer items they would like to sell.  Community wide yard sales are being held along the route in East Cape, McClure, Ware, Jonesboro, Anna and Golconda.

If you want to hold a yard sale of your own, the best thing to do is contact property owners directly who live along Hwy. 146.   If you would like some ideas of where you can set up contact Julie Ames at 618-697-2435 or email  jjames101202@hotmail.com

There is no cost to attend the yard sales.  Organizers say bring cash, as many holding yard sales will not accept personal checks, and aren’t set up to take debit or credit cards.

I wish it would have come on up in Hardin County. Rt 146 ends/begins close to Cave-in-Rock.

I will be having a sale that weekend too. I am on Hwy 146 W between Vienna and West Vienna. I love this idea!

    Can’t wait – sounds great!
